Have you noticed how often Life comes to you in the form of messages? Do you recognize them?
What you do with these messages is important, most especially when you miss them in the first place? What I’ve noted is I frequently get at least twice to catch the drift of a life-message. There really are ‘overs’ the lives of most of us, thought that may well not be trio attempts to get our attention.
After all, the Universe is busy – too busy to mess with those who ignore it, which is what we may do if the message whispers, tweaks or nudges: grow; change; adapt; apologize; tell the truth; get a clue; or pivot when the same-ol’, same ol’ feels so much more comfortable. So, what I’ve noticed when I’m not paying attention at ALL is that’s when I get whopped. I’ve come to call that whopped by the ‘brickbat.’
That’s when ‘switch of life’ swings out hopefully lightly like my Grandma’s freshly cut switch on the back of my quite small legs when I was 4 and sassy to someone else. I had usually missed a serious call to attention that is now going to also have a more sizable pain attached now that I’m a big kid.
Sometimes it is medical – like bypassing all those warnings to get to the dentist, or scheduling that Internist followup, or sticking to that all-raw diet longer like I planned. Sometimes it is more social, like cleaning up that tiny bit of gossip when I could easily have done so and did not. Other times it may be more like missing out on an opportunity because i did not make that phone call or get off that email the day it was timely.
So how is it life is trying to work in our favor before we experience it otherwise? I have this posted on my office wall like something of a good luck wish that I get to be a champion welcomer of ‘the message’ and bypass that brickbat style of training. Take a look. See what you think. If you want a copy of this – I’ll gladly send you one for your wall.
