Sherry Lowry, MCC, is a lifetime serial entrepreneur. For the most recent fourteen years, she has delighted in taking the best learnings forward of six previous business focuses to now include in her services as a full time, professional business mentor and a collaboration and alliance coach. Her clients advantageously and consistently draw from their own and her own backgrounds. In so doing, they identify and expand usage of their own most natural capabilities and interests, plus extend their potential for innovation and new levels of partnership.
Sherry has worked with mentors of entire industries, as well as with hundreds of corporate and organizational leaders, teams, and individual, entrepreneurial owners and/or privately with other C-Level executives. She has been well prepared for this set of endeavors as this is actually her seventh business within seven different industries over four decades.
Her educational background includes over one-thousand hours of internship during completion of two advanced academic degrees. At one point in the 1970’s, her coursework in strategic and systems theory included a marvelous, summer stint as a protégé of the legendary therapist, Virginia Satir. That was actually the unanticipated beginning of her coaching orientation as Virginia taught her from the very beginning to always ask: “What’s working in this situation? That’s what we will build upon from here.”
Acquiring Lowry as coach or mentor essentially means you acquire, by your invitation, a working partner willing to traverse across every level and category of your career or professional life. She offers a distinctive partnership to those who do, which probably explains why she has been onboard with some clients from six to twelve years, to date. Such longevity is common but is not a given -- as her initial contracts usually request only a total of 12 sessions over approximately four months.
Most of her clients actually use her as a literal, thinking, planning, and strategizing business partner, as well as a coach. For this she is compensated on prepaid retainer by the month, the quarter, or the calendar-year – vs taking a share in profits. So – she as a service-provider of special nature is a viable deductible business asset vs an expense or cost, as well as a key investment in their business welfare and catalyst for their own productivity.
While it is not often a stated goal, Sherry frequently observes her most engaged clients consistently report several results: a radical increase in clarity; greater ease and speed in key decision-making; deepening of resilience; enhanced focus on what IS working; expanded ability to delegate or to competently outsource by contract for the balance. Accompanying this, clients often also benefit from a gross doubling to quadrupling of annual income if this is their own full intention; OR – in contrast, some reap a more preferred recapture of 20-40% of their time and energy while earning at their already satisfactory level.
Sherry Lowry's coaching-specific background is extensive. Highlights include graduation from Coach University; Therapist University and Institute for Life-Coach Training (ILCT). More recently, she has professionally benefited from the ontological brilliance embedded all through Julio Olalla’s and Terry Lupberger’s graduate Newfield Network program. Study of Don Beck and Spiral Dynamics and Ken Wilber’s Integral approach are highlights, along with a commitment to the tenets of Buddhism as personal practice.
Sherry is active in community service, participating on 15 community-related non-profit and corporate boards over 4 decades. This includes serving 3 terms on her own industry’s International Coach Federation Board and Ethics and Standards of Conduct Committee for coaching as this organization grew from 250 to a 11,000 global membership. She is currently serving on ICF’s Credentials Review Committee involving her in candidate examination processes at all individual and program levels. She also carries this organization’s highest granted credential, that of Master Certified Coach (MCC.)
Teaching and supervision within her field are regularly included in her schedule and she is on staff for both within The Institute for Life Coaching (ILCT.) She has, to date, also helped train over 2500 coaches as they either enter the field from other successful career bridges. Many are now richly expanding their own advancing uses of our field competencies in buffing and designing their own business and client-interactions.
